MyCreativeType: Insights From My Result, The Thinker

As a photographer, artist, and individual, creativity is crucial, and finding your unique creative spirit is an empowering factor. Recently, I took a quiz on MyCreativeType, an innovative personality assessment tool crafted by Adobe. This article will share my first-hand experience and the interesting insights I’ve gained.

What Is MyCreativeType?

MyCreativeType is a free online personality assessment tool designed by Adobe to help users explore their creative identities. The quiz consists of a series of visually engaging questions and takes about 15 minutes to complete. By the end of the quiz, users are assigned one of eight creative types:

  • The Artist
  • The Thinker
  • The Adventurer
  • The Maker
  • The Producer
  • The Dreamer
  • The Innovator
  • The Visionary

Each creative type comes with a detailed description of strengths, potential weaknesses, and ideal collaborators.

My Result: The Thinker

After completing the quiz, my result was “The Thinker”. According to Adobe, Thinkers are characterized by big, deep thoughts and big questions. This result resonates with me, especially the deep thoughts part, which is a constant in my personality and work, often driven by the desire to convey meanings and connect with others.

In the final results, I’ve come across the phrase “sense of wonder and depth of perception” which I can see and appreciate. However, I somewhat disagree with the phrase “getting out of your head and learning to balance theory with practice. It’s crucial not to become too entangled in concepts and abstractions. Dear thinkers, great ideas are meant to be realized.”

The Thinker Makes Sense

Since as a photographer and blogger, I have always valued the power of meaningful content, “The Thinker” overall matches my creative identity. Here are a few key traits on how MyCreativeType result aligns with my approach:

  • Inquisitive: It’s true I enjoy delving into topics, setting myself apart as an observer and presenting a well rounded dynamic through imagery.
  • Intellectual Stimulation: I aim to create photography that can challenge and stimulate the intellect.
  • Deep Connections: Being able to connect with your audience through art is one of the best parts of it.

Why Take the MyCreativeType Quiz?

  • Self-Awareness: Understanding your creative type can provide a better understanding of your inclinations, strengths, and areas for growth.
  • Improve Collaboration: Knowing your creative type and those of your team members allows for more effective teamwork and outcomes.
  • Free to Use: The tool is free and it doesn’t require downloading a software, which is not bad for a quiz that can help provide valuable insights.

Conclusion

Having a better understanding of your own creative persona can open new doors to self-awareness and growth, so I suggest you take the MyCreativeType assessment to find interesting insights about your artistic process and personality.

Stay creative,

Sal
